Breaking News – Port Hope Police and Suspended Officer Have “Resolved All Issues”

Exclusive – Port Hope Police Constable JoeAnn Kortman is no longer a member of the Port Hope Police Services.
Port Hope Police Chief Bryant Wood on Monday, December 17, 2018 states, the Police Service and Kortman have “resolved all issues in respect to her employment with PHPS to our mutual satisfaction.”
“As a result of this she is no longer an employee of the Port Hope Police Service and the disciplinary hearing will not be proceeding.”
The former Constable had been suspended with pay since November 2016 after being charged under the Police Services Act.
Kortman was facing charges of deceit, insubordination, breach of confidence, discreditable conduct and neglect of duty under the PSA.
The hearing was scheduled to take place starting December 11 through to December 13, 2018 at the Comfort Inn in Port Hope.
The hearing lasted a short period of time on December 11 before being adjourned for further discussions on December 13.
