Assault Peace Officer Arrest:

A 52-year-old Selwyn resident has been charged with assaulting a police officer following an early morning incident.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on February 23, 2018 officers were dispatched to a Peterborough residence for a woman who was causing a disturbance and had refused to leave the address after being asked to do so. It was also reported that the woman was breaching her recognizance by not residing with her surety.

Police attended and when advising the woman that she was under arrest for breaching her recognizance the woman was uncooperative and attempted to strike an officer. Officers were able to apprehend the woman.

As a result of the investigation Angela Virginia Cece, 52, of Kudu Court, Selwyn, was arrested and charged with assault peace officer and fail to comply with a recognizance. The woman was later transported to a local hospital for assessment to a reported injury.
The accused was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 22, 2018.

 

Domestic Assault Arrest:

The Peterborough Police Service has arrested and charged a 25-year-old man following a domestic assault investigation.

On February 19, 2018 the accused, a 25-year-old Peterborough man, and the victim became involved in a verbal argument while at a Peterborough residence. During the argument it was reported that the accused assaulted the victim. The incident was reported to police and officers attended. During the investigation it was also reported that in October of 2017 the accused had damaged the victim’s vehicle.As a result of the investigation the accused was arrested and charged with assault and mischief under $5,000.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 8, 2018.

The name of the accused will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim in this domestic incident.

 

Warrant Arrest:

A 41-year-old Peterborough resident has been arrested on a warrant following an incident earlier in February where a store loss prevention officer was assaulted.

On February 5, 2018 an unknown person entered a Chemong Road store, selected items off the shelves, concealed the items in a bag and then exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise. Once outside the store a loss prevention officer attempted to place the man under arrest at which point the man refused and assaulted the loss prevention officer. The male then fled the scene. Through the investigation the male suspect was identified.

On February 9, 2018 a warrant was issued for the arrest of Dwayne Ike Drury, 41, of Bellevue Street, for the charges of assault with intent to resist arrest, theft under $5,000 and fail to comply with a probation order.

On February 21, 2018 police located the accused at a Peterborough residence where he was arrested on the warrant.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on February 21, 2018.

 

Warrant Arrest:

The Peterborough Police Service has arrested an Ennismore man on a warrant following two incidents in 2017.

Sometime between October and December 2017 the victim had their licence plate removed from their vehicle that was stored on their property. On December 18, 2017 a male pulled up to a gas pump on Lansdowne Street West, pumped approximately $70 in gas and then left the station without paying.

Through the investigation the male suspect was identified. On February 16, 2018 a warrant was issued for the arrest of Raymond David Gould, 32, of Deerfield Crescent, Ennismore, for the charges of theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

On February 20, 2018 the accused attended the police station and turned himself in on the warrant.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 8, 2018.
