Pt. 2 Cobourg Police – Incidents Include Open Alcohol, Fail to Attend, Theft, Possession (No Names Released)

Three Charged with Open Alcohol

Three charged under the Liquor Licence and Control Act in three days.

On August 2, 2026, at approximately 8:40 p.m., police on general patrol located an individual in possession of open alcohol in the area of King Street and George Street in Cobourg. The 48-year-old man was charged under the Liquor Licence and Control Act for having open liquor in a public place.

On August 3, 2026, at approximately 8:50 p.m., police responded to a report of an individual causing a disturbance in the parking lot of a business in the area of King Street West and Spring Street. Officers located a man showing signs of alcohol intoxication who was also in possession of open alcohol containers. The 48-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication and having open liquor in a public place.

On August 4, 2026, at approximately 6:50 p.m., police responded to the area of D’Arcy Street and Water Street following a report of a man consuming alcohol in a nearby park. Officers located an individual in possession of open alcohol containers and determined he was wanted on an outstanding warrant held by another police service. The 30-year-old man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and charged under the Liquor Licence and Control Act for having open liquor in a public place. He was later released on a Provincial Offence Notice.

 

Fail to Attend, Theft, Property Obtained by Crime, Fail to Comply, Possession of Fentanyl

A 32-year-old Cobourg woman is facing multiple charges after police conducted a property check.

On August 4, 2026, at approximately 6:30 a.m., police conducting a property check in the area of King Street West and College Street in Cobourg located an individual who was wanted on two outstanding warrants held by the Cobourg Police Service.

As a result of the investigation, the 32-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with Fail to Attend Court, Theft Under $5,000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of a Schedule I Substance, and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. The accused was held in custody pending a show cause hearing.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking, Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Cobourg woman was arrested after breaching court-ordered conditions.

On August 4, 2026, at approximately 8:20 p.m., police responded to Victoria Beach following a report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, officers located an individual sleeping inside a washroom facility. Police learned the individual was under conditions prohibiting her from attending the park. As a result, a 42-year-old Cobourg woman was arrested and charged with Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
