Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged Child Sexual Abuse and Drug Trafficking (Name Released)

A Cobourg man has been arrested in a child sexual abuse and drug trafficking investigation.

In April of 2026, the Cobourg Police Service opened an investigation after receiving a report of an alleged sexual assault.

On May 12, 2026, CPS Criminal Investigation Bureau and uniform members executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a residence on King Street East in the Town of Cobourg as part of the ongoing investigation into child sexual abuse and drug trafficking.

As a result of the search, Kevin Bandy (53) of Cobourg was arrested and charged with the following offences;

Administering a noxious thing / poisoning
Possession for the purpose of trafficking schedule I substance – methamphetamine
Sexual Assault
Sexual Interference
Child Luring
Making / Accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material
Bandy was held for a show cause hearing.

Reporting of any online exploitation can also be made at Canada’s national tipline for reporting the online sexual exploitation of children at cybertip.ca.

Cobourg Police Service reminds everyone that there is no statute of limitations for sexual offences, and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence. A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. Police encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police.
