Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 215 calls for service beginning at 5:00 am on November 14, 2025 to 5:00 am on November 17, 2025.
Hostage Incident
On November 15th at 9:40pm, Belleville Police responded to the city’s west end regarding a report of screaming coming from a residence. Officers attended the residence and observed a male holding a young child. The male then brandished a knife before retreating into the residence and locking the door. Containment was established around the home.
At 10:19pm, the male exited the residence and, after a brief foot pursuit, was taken into custody. The child was unharmed.
As a result, a 36-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:
· Hostage taking
· Abandoning child
· Resist peace officer
· Possessions of weapon for dangerous purpose
· Assault with a weapon
He was held for a bail hearing.
Driver Charged with Impaired
On November 16th at 2:51am, Belleville Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the city’s east end. Officers spoke to the driver and observed him to be impaired.
As a result of investigation, Ahtonwa Doreen, a 29-year-old man, was arrested and charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus. He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in December.
Intimate Partner Violence
On November 15th at 3:28pm, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, it was reported that a verbal argument escalated and a female smashed two coffee cups. The argument continued with the female attempting to choke the male and also striking him in the back with a broom handle.
As a result, a 33-year-old Campbellford woman was arrested and charged with:
· Assault with a weapon
· Assault causing bodily harm
She was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in December.
Mischief
On November 15th at 4:22am, Belleville Police received a report that the door of a residence on Raycroft Drive had been kicked in. When officers arrived, no suspects were present. After reviewing video footage, police observed four unknown individuals walking together in a group. One suspect approached the residence and kicked the door, causing significant damage. All individuals then fled the scene.
