Update – CN Officials Say Trains Had “Mechanical Issues” in Colborne

A CN Rail spokesperson said that two trains had “mechanical issues in Colborne starting on Sunday, November 2, 2025.

“At approximately 9:00pm local time Sunday, November 2nd, a CN train came to a stop in emergency due to a mechanical issue,” said spokersperson Michelle Hannan.

“Safety is a core value at CN, and repairs were completed before train traffic resumed at approximately 02:30 a.m. local time. A second train sustained a mechanical issue around the same area at approximately 4:30AM local time and the issue was resolved by 6:30AM. At no time was there any threat to public safety.”
