Cobourg Police – Investigating Two Thefts

The Cobourg Police Service is currently investigating two thefts that occurred on October 5, 2025, at two separate retail stores located on Elgin Street West in the Town of Cobourg.

Police responded to reports from both stores regarding theft incidents that took place on October 5, 2025, at approximately 4:00 p.m. In the first case, two female suspects allegedly stole approximately $2,500 worth of merchandise. In the second incident, two female suspects allegedly stole approximately $60 worth of merchandise from a store in close vicinity to the first.

Based on the currently available information, investigators believe the two incidents are connected and that the same two individuals may be responsible for both thefts. The investigation remains ongoing as police work to identify the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 905-372-6821 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or visiting stopcrimehere.ca. Tips received through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a cash reward.
