Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Fail to Comply, Possession of Fentanyl (No Name Released)

On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at approximately 1:00pm, police were on proactive patrol in the west beach area when they observed a male known to them in the company of a person with whom he is not to have contact due to previous court orders.  The man was placed under arrest.  During a search incident to arrest, a quantity of suspected fentanyl and a large quantity of unmarked cigarettes were found on his person.

A 63-year-old Cobourg man was charged with Fail to Comply Undertaking, Fail to Comply with Probation x 2 Possession of a Schedule I Substance and Possession of Unmarked Cigarettes, contrary to the Tobacco Tax Act.  He was held for a bail hearing.

“The Cobourg Police Service notes that since October 2024, the accused has been arrested three times with seven criminal charges, including four charges of failing to comply with probation/undertaking. In total, police have had 24 interactions with the accused in the past year.”
