Quinte West OPP – Bomb Threat Results in Store Evacuations

The Quinte West Detachment of Ontario Provincial Police is investigating a threat which resulted in a temporary evacuation of stores in east end Trenton.

On Monday September 29, 2025, shortly after 2:00 p.m., officers responded to a retail plaza on Dundas Street East. Employees at of business called the OPP to report receiving a threatening phone call, indicating there was a bomb.

The store and neighbouring businesses were evacuated as a precaution, and the parking lot was cleared of drivers and pedestrians.

Officers and the OPP Canine Unit conducted a search and found no suspicious items.

The stores were able to re-open just before 3:00 p.m.

The OPP is committed to ensuring public safety and security. Bomb threats can pose significant risk to public safety and requires immediate attention and investigation. Making such a threat is a crime.
