St. Thomas Police – Two Suspects Wanted for Multiple Distraction Thefts

As a result of an investigation by the St Thomas Police Services’ Property Crime Unit, in collaboration with the Aylmer Police Service, the identification of two suspects responsible for multiple Distraction Thefts in our area has occurred.

Each incident saw a large denomination of lottery tickets stolen.

The incidents were similar in nature with one male entering the businesses and stealing the lottery tickets while the attendant was not present, or distracted.

Robert DOBRE, 53, has been identified from the Greater Toronto Area, and is currently wanted by eight (8) different Policing Jurisdictions for similar offences, spanning across Ontario and into Quebec.

(Today’s Northumberland has e-mailed Cobourg Police enquiring if these persons are suspects wanted in the distraction thefts in Cobourg.  Cobourg Police have not replied)

DOBRE has been charged with:

  • Four counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Two counts of Theft under $5,000

The driver of the white Lexus SUV involved in the incidents has been identified as Ahmad ALAHMAD, 54, of Mississauga, who has been charged for being party to the offence; two counts of Theft under $5,000.

Both DOBRE and ALAHMAD have been charged by way of warrant and are currently at large. ST25016340/16256
