A local gas station was recently the site of a lottery theft to the sum of hundreds of dollars in lottery tickets.

On September 4, 2025 at approximately 5:20 p.m. a adult male entered the Petro-Canada store on Division Street to purchase lottery tickets.

The suspect asked the clerk for an item involving lottery tickets, but when the clerk said they were on the back wall, he stated there was none.

When the clerk walked back to the area to refill the item. She thought the suspect was behind her, but in the video the suspect quickly went behind the counter and snatched an envelope containing approximately $600 worth of lottery tickets. He then slips the envelope under his shirt and leaves the story stating, “have a good day. Thank you very much – I’ll be on my way.”

The man got into the passenger side of a black SUV that had no front license plate.

The suspect is a bald man who was wearing a black t-shirt.

A similar incident happened on August 22, 2025 in Puslinch south of Guelph.

The suspect walked into the store and bought a lottery ticket. Surveillance video showed the man leaning over the counter while the employee was distracted and sliding open a display case to steal a fistful of scratch lottery tickets.
