Cobourg Police – Investigation Into “Disturbance” in Victoria Park

Police confirm no arrests in an investigation into a disturbance on Monday night.

On Monday, August 11, 2205, at approximately 5:30 p.m., police opened an investigation after responding to a report of a man possibly armed with a knife arguing with another man in the area of King Street East and McGill Street in Cobourg. The complainant reported hearing someone yelling that a man had been stabbed. Police checked the area extensively with negative results.

Police then spoke to two individuals identified through descriptions provided to police. No injuries were reported to police, and no knife was located.

The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing. Anyone with information, dashcam or security footage of the area is asked to call police at 905-372-6821 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or visiting stopcrimehere.ca. Tips received through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a cash reward.
