It was a record year for Jumpstart at the Canadian Tire store in Cobourg.
Founded in 2005, Jumpstart helps kids overcome financial and accessibility barriers to sport and recreation in an effort to provide inclusive play for kids of all abilities to fulfill their dreams.
Stephanie Miletic, General Manager of Canadian Tire in Cobourg said 100% of donations goes directly to helping kids play.
“The really special thing is when someone donates to Jumpstart here in Northumberland County, all that money goes to kids in Northumberland County.”
“It’s one of the best things of my job is you can get kids right into sports.”
During the month of June, Canadian Tire held a raffle fora barbeque with 100% of the proceeds going to Jumpstart.
The goal was $10,000, but thanks to the community of Northumberland and the team at Canadian Tire the total raised was $10,700.
Port Hope resident Josh Beal was the winner and happily picked up the barbeque on Friday, July 18, 2025.
Beal said it was “perfect timing” as his barbeque needs replacing.
“My barbeque is starting to go.”
“I entered the draw and forgot all about it until they called me.”
“Growing up in Port Hope Jumpstart is a great charity for kids.”
The goal is putting kids into sports, and thanks to the community and team at Canadian Tire it was another huge success this year said Miletic.
