Northumberland OPP – Fatal Collision of Train and Vehicle in Cramahe Township

Officers from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision between a train and a pickup truck.

On Monday, July 14, 2025, at about 8:15 a.m., officers and emergency crews responded to a collision between a train and a pickup truck on Hunt Road in the Municipality of Brighton.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 69-year-old male of Frankford, Ontario, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Hunt Road was clos ed for several hours while the OPP and Canadian Pacific Railway conducted their investigations, between County Road 2 to approximately one kilometre south on Hunt Road.

The road reopened just after 1:00 p.m. that same day.
