Belleville Police Service – Trenton Resident Charged with Impaired by Drug (Name Released)

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 115 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on July 10, 2025 to 5:00 am on July 11, 2025.

Impaired by Drug
On July 10th at 3:22am, Belleville Police responded to a report of erratic driving in the city’s north end. Officers located the suspect vehicle in a parking lot on Bell Blvd and observed a male driver. During their investigation, officers determined the driver was impaired by drug and learned that he was a prohibited driver under the Criminal Code.
As a result of the investigation, Douglas Kelly, 32-year-old Trenton resident, was arrested and charged with:
· Two counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
· Operation while impaired by drug
· Operation while prohibited under criminal code
· Drive while under suspension

He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in August 2025.
