Quinte West OPP – Three Motorists Charged with Impaired (Names Released)

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in 3 more impaired driving investigations.

On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers were conducting a RIDE program on Loyalist Parkway, where an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized, resulting in the arrest of a novice driver for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Hannah BANVILLE, age 23, from Carrying Place, was charged with the following offences:

Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Novice Driver – B.A.C above zero

 

On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at approximately 9:45 p.m., a traffic stop on the 401 led to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired as well as other offences. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Giovanni WATSON, age 28, from Bowmanville was charged with the following offences:

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Speeding 1-49 Km/h over posted speed limit.

Driver – fail to properly wear seat belt.

Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

 

On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Officers with the Quinte West OPP, investigated a collision leading to suspect a motorist may have been under the influence of alcohol.

With the assistance of the OPP Emergency Response Unit and OPP Canine Unit, the driver was arrested and transported to the Quinte West Detachment for testing, resulting in charges being laid.

Becky STYLES, age 54, from Carrying Place, was charged with the following offences:

Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

Fail to report accident

All the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on July 31, 2025. Additionally, the vehicles they were operating were impounded for seven days, and their licences suspended for 90 days.
