Durham Regional Police – Single Motor Vehicle Collision Fatality in Bowmanville

A 79-year-old male has died as a result of a single motor vehicle collision in Bowmanville.

On Sunday, July 6, 2025 at approximately 3:50 p.m., members from East Division responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Bennett Road, north of Port Darlington Road. The vehicle was travelling westbound on Kissingbridge Lane when it exited the roadway, travelling through a field towards Bennett Road, where it collided into an embankment.

The male driver was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. Bennett Road was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. This collision is still under investigation.
