Over 200 Wanted Individuals Arrested in Project GIANT — 15 Reoffend Within Weeks

Investigators from the DRPS Offender Management Unit have arrested 202 individuals, executed 267 arrest warrants and laid 406 charges during an eight-week project throughout Durham Region.

Between March and May 2025, the Offender Management Unit, assisted by divisional units took part in Project GIANT, a region-wide initiative focused on locating and arresting parties on outstanding warrants with DRPS. All warrants were considered; however, the focus was on accused persons wanted for Fail to Comply and Fail to Appear offences.

Project GIANT resulted in 327 Fail to Comply/Fail to Appear Charges and 79 charges for other offences, including theft, assault peace officer and obstruct justice.

Of the 202 individuals arrested, 65 were held for bail hearings. Of those, 55 were released, and 15 have since re-offended or been re-arrested—underscoring a concerning trend of recidivism.

A complete list of names and charges can be found here.

The DRPS would like to thank the members of the investigative team for their dedication and perseverance and all other law enforcement agencies that provided assistance during this project.

Anyone with information about wanted parties is asked to contact the Offender Management Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext 5357.

Anonymous information can be sent to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.durhamregionalcrimestoppers.ca and tipsters may be eligible for a $2000 cash reward.
