Northumberland County Council supports County Wide Physician Recruitment Pilot

In City Hall, Local

Northumberland County will launch a two-year Physician Recruitment pilot to help address the growing local gap in access to primary care.

Council has approved hiring a Physician Engagement Specialist based on an outcomes-based compensation package, as well as approving an Advisory Committee structure, and an initial budget to support the implementation of a recruitment action plan.

This strategic investment reflects Northumberland County’s commitment to a coordinated, county-wide approach to physician recruitment, retention, and engagement.

The posting for the Physician Engagement Specialist is now live. Applications can be submitted at Northumberland.ca/Careers.
