Breaking News – Port Hope Police Respond to Missing Person Report — Male Located Deceased

On June 14, 2025, at approximately 6:12 PM, Port Hope Police responded to a report of a missing elderly male in the area of Bedford Street.

Upon arrival, officers located the male at the rear of a property in the water. The individual was found with vital signs absent. Officers immediately initiated life-saving measures until Port Hope Fire and EMS arrived on scene. The male was subsequently transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

At this time, police confirm there is no danger to the public, and this is believed to be an isolated incident.

To protect the privacy of the deceased and their family, the individual’s identity is being withheld at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing in collaboration with the Chief Coroner’s Office and the Port Hope Police Service.

A follow-up media release is scheduled for tomorrow.
