Northumberland OPP – Seeking Witnesses After Highway 401 Collision

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual following a collision on Highway 401.

On November 6, 2024, at approximately 3.15 p.m., OPP responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover on Highway 401 westbound in the Township of Hamilton. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and fire departments from the Township of Hamilton and Cobourg also responded to the incident.

Officers arrived and observed a heavily damaged pickup truck on the north side of the highway. The lone occupant was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Following an investigation, police arrested an individual on June 8, 2025.

Adam STOPPA, 34, from Belleville, has been charged with:

– Dangerous operation.

The accused is due to appear in July before the On tario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
