Cobourg Man Facing Charges Including Assault with a Weapon

A 36-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after police responded to a disturbance downtown Cobourg on Sunday morning.

On June 8, 2025, at approximately 12:40 a.m., police responded to a report of assault and death threats uttered outside of a business on King Street in the Town of Cobourg.

Multiple victims informed police that a man approached them and began uttering death threats and throwing cans at them without provocation. Police located a man in the area who matched the provided description.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, two counts of uttering death threats, and failure to comply with a release order. During a search incident to the arrest, a quantity of suspected fentanyl was located, resulting in an additional charge of possession of a Schedule I substance. The accused was held for a bail hearing.


Cobourg Man Charged with Assault

A 33-year-old Cobourg man is facing intimate partner violence related charges after police responded to a disturbance on Sunday.

On June 8, 2025, police received a report of a woman yelling for help downtown Cobourg. Police attended and commenced an assault investigation.

As a result of the investigation, on June 8, 2025, at approximately 10:40 a.m., police located and arrested a 33-year-old Cobourg man who was charged with assault – spousal, assault cause bodily harm – spousal, uttering threats to cause bodily harm/death, and fail to comply with probation.  The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded in custody.
