Break and Enter

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a recent break and enter incident.

On June 5, 2025, at approximately 3:10 p.m., police responded to a report of a break an enter at an address on Dingman Road. The caller advised that at around 2:40 p.m., an individual attempted to gain entry to the residence prior to being disturbed and leaving the area.

A local Scenes of Crime Officer (SOCO) attended the location to assist with the investigation.

Submerged Vehicle

On June 5, 2025, at around 2:20 p.m., OPP received a complaint regarding an abandoned vehicle partially submerged off Pogue Road in the Township of Cramahe. The caller advised that the engine was running and that it was unoccupied. There was an increased police presence in the area as police attempted to locate the driver and any occupants.

Officers spoke to an individual nearby on Maple Grove Road in relation to the incident and no charges have been laid as yet.

The OPP Canine Unit (K9) was also dispatched to assist with the search of the area near the abandoned vehicle.

Investigators are following lines of enquiry as to whether this incident is linked to the break and enter and are asking the public if they observed any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area of Pogue Road and Dingman Road, to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at www.stopcrimehere.ca.

These investigations are ongoing, and updates will be provided when available.
