Quinte West OPP – Business Hit by Break-In and Arson

A Quinte West business has been hit by a break-in and arson overnight.

On Thursday, May 29, 2025, shortly before 10:30 p.m., officers with the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Quinte West Firefighters responded to a restaurant on Old Highway-2, east of Burns Avenue.

The initial investigation has confirmed that two individuals had broke into the shop, with a fire breaking out moments later.

The two people were dressed in black and were wearing masks. Both appeared to be 5’6″ to 5’8″ (168-173 cm) tall. They fled the scene in a grey Nissan.

The investigation by the Quinte West OPP Crime Unit and the Office of the Fire Marshal is continuing, with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit.
