Peterborough Police – Peterborough Man Charged with Possession of Weapon, Uttering Threats, Fail to Comply (No Name Released)

A 28-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges after an incident early Tuesday morning.

At approximately 3:45 am on April 29, 2025, officers were called to Peterborough Regional Health Centre after a report of a disturbance in the Emergency Department. Upon arrival, officers learned that security had asked a man to leave, and the man became aggressive with them and brandished a knife before fleeing. A man matching the description given to police was located walking away from the hospital. Due to the suspect reported to have a weapon, officers drew their Conducted Energy Weapons (CEW) and initiated an arrest. The man complied with officer demands and was taken into custody. Security officers located a knife and turned it over to police.

As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused is currently bound by two probation orders with the following condition: to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
