September 21
- High winds kept officers busy attending several locations within Northumberland County for reports of trees and hydro wires down that were blocking roadways. No injuries were reported as a result of the fallen debris.
- A senior citizen from Cramahe Township called police after she received a fraudulent phone call regarding her credit card account. The suspect that called her advised that he was from the banking institution she does business with. The caller provided specific details about her credit card account and told her that her Visa card had been compromised. She was instructed to go to a grocery store and make a transaction. Her banking institution was contacted and it was confirmed that no fraudulent transactions had occurred on her account.
September 22
- Officers responded to a break and enter that was reported to have occurred sometime within the past two weeks at a seasonal residence on Percy Boom Road located in the Municipality of Trent Hills. The residence was entered through what appeared to be an unlocked rea r door. Reported stolen were two Black and Decker chainsaws, a Stihl leaf blower, fan and weed trimmer, a television and a surround sound audio system. Also reported missing were two cases of beer. Investigation is continuing*.
- Police were called to the race track south of Brighton for reports of a dangerous driving incident involving two drivers while on the track during a race. It was also reported that both drivers were involved in a physical altercation in the pit area. Police spoke with all involved parties and no charges were laid. One driver left the race track at the request of the track manager without incident.
September 23
- Just before 9:30 am a resident called police to report a possible fire on the railway tracks near Lisgar Street, just east of the town of Brighton. Officers arrived on scene and put out the minor smoldering fire wit h their fire extinguishers. There were no reported train delays or injuries.
- Police responded to a family dispute in progress between a mother and her daughters on the 401 Eastbound off ramp at Lyle Street in Alnwick-Haldimand Township. The daughter was upset because she felt her family was taking their time and going slow driving back to Ottawa knowing she needed to go work. All parties were spoken and advice provided.
Northumberland OPP officers also investigated 16 accidental 9-1-1/ alarm calls, 13 motor vehicle collisions, 46 traffic related complaints and conducted 11 RIDE programs over the weekend.
