Quinte West OPP – Quinte West Man Charged with Flight from Police, Impaired, Dangerous Driving (Name Released)

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid numerous criminal charges after an incident in the City of Quinte West.

On Sunday, March 30, 2025, just after 2:30 a.m., Quinte West OPP officers responded a traffic complaint. A vehicle was seen driving over residents’ lawns, through a park and playground area. The vehicle then left the area, traveling eastbound toward the downtown. Police located the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop and proceeded to drive on sidewalks in an effort to flee. Additional officers arrived on the scene and police were able to stop the vehicle. The driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for testing.

Connor ARNOLD, a 19-year-old from Quinte West, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Flight from peace officer

·      Dangerous operation

·      Mischief Over $5,000 – two counts

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on April 24, 2025. The vehicle was impounded for 14 days, and their licence was suspended for 90 days.
