Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (Name Released)

A 45-year-old Cobourg man has been arrested after a police investigation into a weapons call.

On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the Cobourg Police Service opened an investigation after receiving
information about a potentially prohibited firearm in Cobourg. The Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB),
supported by uniform officers, executed a search warrant at a premise near Division Street and Densmore Road in the Town of Cobourg. As a result of the investigation, replica firearms, bladed weapons and drugs were seized.

Jamie Stewart Ross (45) of Cobourg was arrested and charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Crystal Methamphetamine

• Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl

• Possession of an Imitation Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

• Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

• Three Counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
