Video – Pickup Truck Flips on Highway 401 Eastbound On-Ramp at Cobourg

There were no injuries after a pickup truck flipped on its side blocking the eastbound on-ramp to Highway 401 at Cobourg on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

Emergency services were notified shortly after 7 p.m. of the collision on the eastbound on-ramp of Highway 401.

Initial calls indicated it may have been in the area of Port Hope so, Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services were dispatched.

As emergency crews were proceeding they were updated the collision was on the Highway 401 eastbound on-ramp at Burnham Street and Cobourg Fire Department was dispatched along with Northumberland County Paramedics and Northumberland OPP.

The pickup truck was proceeding down the on-ramp when it struck a guardrail and flipped on its side.

The on-ramp was blocked for approximately one hour while the investigation took place and the wreckage was removed.

The two occupants were not injured and the investigation is continuing.

(It was also one of the first calls for Cobourg’s newest firetruck.)
