Quinte West OPP – Two Suspects Charged After Drug Investigation (Names Released)

Two individuals have been arrested after a drug investigation by the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) into drug trafficking in the Quinte West area.

On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region CSCU, assisted by the East Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, OPP Canine Unit and Quinte West OPP officers, executed a search warrant on Nash Road in Courtice.

Two people were arrested at the scene. Officers seized over $20,000 in cash, a cash counter, cellular phones and other items typically associated with drug trafficking.

Daniel LEWIS, aged 30 from Courtice, has been charged with:

  • Traffick in Schedule I substance
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

Aalaa ABDELGADIR, aged 26 of Ottawa, has been charged with one count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000.

Both the accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on March 13, 2025.
