Cobourg Police – Incidents Include Theft, Trespassing, Fail to Comply, Mischief (No Names Released)

Cobourg Man Charged with Theft
On Saturday, February 8, 2025, at approximately 11:00 am, police were called to a business on Division Street in Cobourg.

A staff member witnessed a man selecting items from the store, concealing them, and leaving the store without making payment. He left the area in a vehicle.

Following an investigation, police located and arrested a 62-year-old Cobourg man. The accused was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and released on an Undertaking with a future court date.

Cobourg Man Faces Charges as Result of Trespassing Investigation, Fail to Comply, Possession of Prohibited Weapon
On Saturday, February 8, 2025, at approximately 10:45 p.m., police were on general patrol in the area of John Street and James Street East when an officer observed a male on the property of an unoccupied and vacant residence.

The officer began to investigate the male for trespassing and, during the investigation, located a knife tucked in the in the male’s waistband, which was determined to be a prohibited weapon.

As a result, the 27-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, two counts of Possession of a Weapon contrary to a Prohibition Order, and Failing to Comply with Probation.

The accused was released on an Undertaking with a court date on March 19, 2025.

Cobourg Man Charged with Mischief
On Friday, February 7, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance call in Cobourg.

The complainant alleged that her ex-boyfriend attended her residence and damaged her vehicle when she did not answer the door.

On Sunday, February 9, 2025, the male turned himself in to police. As a result, the 29-year-old Cobourg man was charged with Mischief under $5,000.

He was released on an Undertaking with a future court date.
