In a future of AI and algorithms, can humans keep up?
This is the question behind the springs series announced by the Northumberland Learning Connection on Our Digital Future, an exploration of how technology has changed humans and the transformation we are experiencing in our own lives in five in-person presentations and a limited-attendance hands-on Chat GBT workshop.
The five presentations will explore the impact of technology on education, privacy and health, but also on truth, wisdom and what it means to be human. Each takes place on a Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Columbus Community Centre, 232 Spencer St. E., Cobourg, with ticket purchasers sent recordings after each event:
March 20 – Wisdom in the Age of AI with Jesse Hirsch
March 27 – Rethinking Education with Dr. Rianka Singh
April 3 – Data, Privacy and Surveillance with Dr. David Lynch
April 14 – Truth About Fact: Dis/Mis Information with Kathy English
May 1 – Revolutionizing Health Care with Gemma Postill
The special AI Workshop will take place April 10 at 7:30 p.m. or April 11 at 9:30 a.m. at Venture 13, 739 D’Arcy St., Cobourg, with tech specialist Sara Norton introducing ChatGPT and other AI tools.
