Cobourg Police – Toronto Man Charged with Utter Forged Document, Possession of Proceeds of Crime (Name Released)

A 29-year-old Toronto man is facing charges after police investigate investment fraud.

In February of 2024 Cobourg Police entered into a fraud investigation where a victim was
defrauded of over $10,000 in relation to an investment scam. As a result of the investigation a
suspect was identified and contacted. On December 10, 2024, the suspect turned himself in to
police. As a result, 29-year-old Yousuf GHAIRAT of Toronto was arrested and charged with the
following:

3) Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the
Criminal Code

3) Utter Forged Document contrary to section 368(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

3) Obstruct Peace Officer contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code
The accused was released on an Undertaking with a court date of January 22, 2024 at 9:00am.
