Belleville Police Service – Incidents Include Collision and Fail to Remain After Vehicle Strikes Police Cruiser

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 73 calls for service between 5:00 am on November 27, 2024 to 5:00 am on November 28, 2024.

Collision
On 27 November, 2024, at approximately 2:00pm, Belleville Police investigated a 3-vehicle collision which involved a city transit bus in the city’s north end. A SUV was making a left turn out of a Bell Boulevard business and collided with a west bound vehicle. As a result of the initial collision, the second vehicle struck an east bound city transit bus. No injuries were reported. Police charged a 29-year-old man from Campbellford with fail to yield from a private drive under the Highway Traffic Act.

Fail to remain
On 27 November, 2024 at approximately 11:30pm, a Belleville Police cruiser was struck while conducting an unrelated investigation in the city’s east end. Police were speaking with witnesses at a North Park Street residence when a south bound vehicle struck the cruiser parked on the roadway. Extensive damage would have occurred to the suspect vehicle’s passenger side. Police were unable to locate the vehicle after the collision. The vehicle is described as a silver or grey SUV. Anyone with information pertaining to this fail to remain collision is asked to call the Belleville Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
