Video – 28th Annual Festival of Lights and Trees Continues at the Capitol Theatre

The 28th annual Festival of Lights and Trees continues on at the Capitol Theatre in Port Hope.

On Monday, November 25, 2024 the business community came out for a social event and to look at the amazing display of trees and wreathes throughout the Capitol Theatre.

Manager Director Erin Pierce said there are 80 Christmas trees and wreathes and it is one of the largest fundraisers for the Capitol Theatres.

“All of the local businesses sponsor these trees and then people come and bid on the decorations they want to win.”

“They are so unique and I can’t believe what’s happened.”

The decorations are “absolutely amazing” with this year show casing Christmas trees in the theme of Taylor Swift having a Merry Swiftmas, a disco party in one of the trees

“It’s unbelievable the effort that goes in from local businesses. I like to call it the Winter Wonderland.”

The festival runs until December 22 and the doors are open for viewing two hours before every show time of Rapunzel – A Merry (Hairy) Holiday Panto.
