Belleville Police – Incidents Include Public Intoxication

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 97 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on October 8, 2024 to 5:00 am on October 9, 2024.

Public Intoxication
On the 8th of October at 7:10pm, a male contacted the Belleville Police Service reporting that his wife was currently parked and sitting in her vehicle at a business on Bell Blvd when an unknown female arbitrarily jumped in her vehicle and refused to get out. Police attended and determined that the female was intoxicated from the consumption of alcohol. For the safety of the female, police arrested the 44-year-old Belleville resident. She was charged with being intoxicated in a public place contrary to the Liquor Licence and Control Act. The female was later released with a Provincial Offence Notice.

Public Intoxication
On the 9th of October at 1:02am, Belleville Police received several calls regarding a female lying on the ground and screaming behind the stores on Front Street. Police located the female and quickly determined that the 29-year-old Belleville resident was highly intoxicated from the consumption of alcohol and was unable to care for her own safety. Police attempted to identify a safe place where they could bring the female where a responsible person could care for her. The female refused to cooperate. As a result, police arrested and charged her with being intoxicated in a public place contrary to the Liquor Licence and Control Act. She was later released with a Provincial Offence Notice.
