Northumberland OPP – Resident Assaulted After Doorbell Ring (Name Released)

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested one individual following a report of an assault in Colborne.

On October 8, 2024, at approximately 3:10 a.m., police responded to a report of an individual who rang the doorbell of a dwelling on King Street East, and when the resident answered, they were hit with a sports equipment item.

The accused was located nearby and taken into custody by police. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were not required for the complainant.

Mithulan SIVASUTHAN, 25-years-old, from Colborne, has been charged with:

– Assault with a weapon

– Being intoxicated in a public place.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
