Art Imitates Life on Murdoch Mysteries Filming in Cobourg

In Local

A number of people who are fans of the series Murdoch Mysteries got to meet the stars of the show while they were filming in Cobourg on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

The series which is in its 17th season of 287 episodes frequently visits Cobourg.

On Wednesday, filming took place around Victoria Hall for the series which is set in the time period of 1895 in Toronto.

Downtown businesses were happy with the series once again choosing Cobourg to film.

Stefani Kirsh-Rotstein who works at the Fabled Bean just across from Victoria Hall on King Street said the cast and crew have been amazing, frequently popping into the store with “Murdoch” dollars.

Kirsh-Rotstein had a walk-on part approximately five years ago and said it was an amazing experience.

With cameras rolling outside Victoria Hall, one of the actors spoke to a crowd about how he was going to bring law and order to the town.

It was a bit of art imitating life, as across the road two Cobourg Police officers took a man into custody while filming was taking place.

A bicycle believed to belong to the man was placed in the back of a cruiser.

On Thursday filming will continue in Victoria Park.

The series stars Yannick Bisson (William Murdoch) Helene Joyh, Thomas Craig, Jonny Harris, Georgina Reilly and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee.
