Cobourg Police – Auxiliary Unit Canvassing After Multiple People Involved in Altercation

Cobourg Police Service is investigating after responding to a report of a fight between multiple individuals Thursday night. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.

On Thursday, September 5, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Elgin Street East and D’Arcy Street for a report of numerous people fighting. Responding officers located several people with physical injuries in the area. One individual was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The Cobourg Police Service Auxiliary Unit is conducting a canvass for witnesses and video footage in the D’Arcy Street and Elgin Street area this morning.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information, dashcam, or CCTV footage of the area is asked to call police at 905-372-6821 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or visiting stopcrimehere.ca. Tips received through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a cash reward.
