In Police Blotter

Although no press release was issued, Today’s Northumberland confirmed that Cobourg Police are working in conjunction with the Coroner’s Office in a death that occurred over the weekend.

On Saturday, August 10, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m., police were called to the area Orange Street and Spring Street in the Town of Cobourg for a report of a 30-year-old male found with vital signs absent at the loading docks of Shoppers.

Lifesaving measures were taken by a bystander and officers who arrived on scene until Cobourg Fire and Northumberland Paramedics arrived and transported the man to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Today’s Northumberland has also learned the same individual was treated by emergency services behind the Dutch Oven on Friday, August 9, 2024.

The Cobourg Police Service is working with the Coroner’s Office and Forensic Identification Services to identify the circumstances of the death.

The scene has been cleared, and there is no concern for public safety.
