Officers located the described vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the driver, they were determined to be under the influence of alcohol. OPP made an Approved Screening Device (ASD) demand of which the driver refused to comply.

Sankeethan NAGARAJAH, 21-years-old, of Colborne, has been arrested and charged with:

–      Failure or refusal to comply with demand

–      Novice driver refuse to provide breath sample

–       Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available.

The individual had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before then Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.

The Northumberland OPP remind motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol. Use a designated driver, cab, public transit, or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
