Belleville Police Service – Incidents Include, Break and Enter, Arson

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 101 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 27th of June, 2024, to 5:00 am on the 28th of June, 2024.

Break, Enter & Theft
On June 27, 2024, between 1:30am and 3:30am, two male suspects broke in and entered a new residential property build on Wims Way. The suspects removed approximately $1000.00 in copper wire. Police are continuing the investigation. If anyone has any information regarding this theft, they are asked to contact Constable Burkitt at 613-966-0882 ext. 4242.

Robbery
On June 27, 2024, at 9:15pm, Police were dispatched to the area of Pinnacle St. and Bridge St. East regarding a report of a robbery. The investigation revealed that the victim was approached by two male suspects, each of who produced weapons. One weapon was believed to be a BB gun and the other a flare gun. The suspects stole the victim’s hand bag and made off without inflicting any injuries to the victim. One of the suspects was described as a male wearing a white t-shirt and having short hair.

Arson
On June 27, 2024, at approximately 9:40pm, Belleville Police and Belleville Fire were dispatched to a dumpster fire located on Front St. at the rear of an apartment building. A suspect was observed fleeing the scene southbound behind the Front St. stores. The suspect was described as wearing a grey hoody, ripped jeans, tan shoes with a backpack and carrying a large, red rolled up mattress. If anyone can identify the suspect from the surveillance footage, please contact Constable Genore at the Belleville Police Service at 613-966-0882 ext. 4194.
