Northumberland County – Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre (Cornerstone), is pleased to share that over $59,000 was raised at the 8th annual Women’s Day Luncheon that took place on Thursday, May 9th at the Best Western in Cobourg.
The Northumberland community came together for an afternoon in support of Cornerstone and enjoyed lunch, a silent auction, a Nights of Shelter fundraising initiative, a photo booth presented by The EL Cobourg, and heard from the captivating guest speaker, Maryam Monsef.
“We were thrilled to have Maryam as our guest speaker, her speech resonated with the audience and we were left feeling inspired to make a difference” said Cornerstone Executive Director, Nancy Johnston.

The funds from the luncheon go towards Cornerstone’s necessary programs and services, helping support local families rebuild their lives after experiencing gender-based violence.
