Great Fun Tubing Down The Ganaraska River In Port Hope

In Community, Editor Choice, Local, Photo Gallery

It was a great day on August 12, 2018 for tubing down the Ganaraska River in Port Hope.
The “mighty” Ganny, was perfect for children and their parents to tube down through Port Hope ending up by the library.
The Northumberland Family Autism Network gathered at Optimist Park at approximately 1 p.m. and with inner tubes in hand, took on the beautifully warm river.
The event started last year and has become an annual event for the children and their parents.
Jamie Baggaley has a child with autism and said, “a lot of these kids have social difficulties and don’t have a lot of programs geared to their needs.”
Each summer the children from ages 7 to 13 look forward to tubing down the river and with the smiles on everyone’s faces it was obvious they were having a great time.
