Video – Cobourg Police – Cobourg Man Charged After Break-In at Habitat for Humanity ReStore (No Name Released)

A 34-year-old Cobourg man faces charges after police responded to an alarm call early Friday morning.

On March 8, 2024, at approximately 12:05 a.m., police responded to an activated alarm at a business at the Habitat for Humanity-Restore in the area of Division Street and Ewert Street.

Upon arrival, police observed a damaged door window near a loading dock entrance.

A short time later a individual was located on business property.

Approximately nine police cruisers from Cobourg Police and Northumberland OPP converged on the property to set-up a perimeter while waiting for a Durham Police Canine Unit.

The Durham Regional Police Canine Unit along with a member from the OPP Emergency Response Team attended and cleared the building.

No other people were found on the property or in the building.

A 34-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with break and enter.

The accused was held for a bail hearing later today.
