OPP – City of Kawartha Lakes Holiday Weekend Enforcement

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) –  The City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had a busy weekend with traffic enforcement that yielded numerous charges in support of the Civic Holiday traffic initiative.

 

The charges included the following:

  • 2 charges for failing to move over for an emergency vehicle
  • 100 speeding charges
  • 2 stunt charges
  • 4 distracted driving charges
  • 4 seat belt charges
  • 4 impaired driving related charges
  • 3 marine related charges

 

Delivering this type of proactive initiative supports the OPP’s commitment to public safety. We ask that you do your part – slow down, move over and don’t tempt fate…that text can wait.
