Northumberland OPP – Roseneath Man Charged with Arson (Name Released)

As a result of an an investigation into a fire at a residence in Alderville on January 29, 2024, OPP have arrested an individual for arson.

On January 29, 2024, at approximately 7:50 a.m., members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a structure fire at a residence on Megyaak Drive in Alderville. Officers attended the scene where fire crews were dealing with the fire. No injuries were reported.

Forensic Identification Services (IDENT), Canine Unit (K9) and Emergency Response Team (ERT) members attended to assist with the investigation.

On February 7, 2024, members of the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit executed a warrant at an address in Roseneath. Officers have charged an individual as a result of the investigation.

Seth GRAY, 35-years-old, from Roseneath, has been charged with:

  • Arson – disregard for human life
  • Arson – damage to property

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
