30th Annual Light Up a Life Fundraising Campaign Marks Most Successful Year to Date

In Local

Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation is excited to announce the remarkable results of the 30th annual Light Up a Life fundraising appeal – the most successful campaign to date. Thanks to generous community support, this campaign raised over $300,000 to purchase an Automatic Tablet Packager for NHH’s Pharmacy.

“Our community continues to shine in its support of our Hospital,” exclaims Rhonda Cunningham, CEO of NHH Foundation. “To say I am in awe of this amazing result would be an understatement. Thank you to everyone who had a hand in this good news announcement. You make continuous improvement at NHH possible and in this case, the first-ever unit dose packaging unit will soon be available to help the pharmacy team, help the community.”

NHH’s Pharmacy supports all patient-care departments across the hospital, working closely with patients, physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team to ensure safe and effective medication use. The purchase of an Automatic Tablet Packager – the focus of this year’s Light Up a Life – will help streamline medication packaging, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.

“Witnessing the community rally together to support the Pharmacy throughout the Light Up a Life campaign is an incredible source of encouragement and motivation for our team,” reflects Andrea Bonello, Pharmacy Manager. “This fosters a sense of unity and shared purpose. It enhances morale and emphasizes the importance of the pharmacy’s role in a patient’s healthcare experience.”

First launched in 1994, the Light Up a Life campaign has raised over $4 million.
