City of Kawartha Lakes OPP – RIDE Program Leads to Driver Being Charged (Name Released)

Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged an individual with impaired driving related charges following an interaction at a RIDE program.

On November 23, 2023 around 0135 hours, a vehicle was stopped at a RIDE program and an investigation commenced, as a result the driver of the vehicle were arrested and charged.

Kathryn GROENENDYK 27 years old of Lindsay, was charged with

  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg plus

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
