Video – Photo Gallery – Spectacular Drone and Fireworks Show at Festival On The Bay

In Local

A spectacular drone show and fireworks took place on Friday, July 18, 2025 as part of Downtown Trent’s Festival on the Bay.

The drone show and fireworks were put on by Mystical Distributing which is run local entrepreneur Mark Phillips.

Mystical Distributing, Northstar Entertainment along with Northstar Drone Show are one of Canada’s top fireworks and drone show suppliers.

Today’s Northumberland spoke Phillips just prior to the show.

The first part of the show featured everything Canadian, from the CN Tower, to the RCMP, hockey and even the space shuttle with the Canada arm.

‘It deals with our national pride and just how proud we are to be Canadians.”

Nearly 400 drones were programmed for the show with each drone having thousands of different colours available.

“Our drones are designed to fly fast, and change fast, and change rapidly so what happens is we will have many, many scenes because our drones have that ability.”

With drones having a limited flying time of approximately 15-minutes, the advantage of the drones used is to change the scenes rapidly for the audience.

Phillips predicted the fireworks show would be “amazing” and he was absolutely right.

From start to finish colourful fireworks ranging from a two-inch shell up to a six-inch shell lit up the evening sky going up to 600 feet in the air.

“What we’ve done this year is instead of dragging the fireworks show on, we’re going to it a little bit shorter than we usually do, but really super intensive.”

The plan was beautifully executed saying it would be a “very nice, very nice drone show followed by a very intensive fireworks show.”

“When you combine drones and fireworks it makes from a very, very nice entertaining evening.”

Phillips said living in Trenton for a number of years, the community of Quinte West means everything to him.

“It’s a fantastic community, it’s a giving community. They support me in everything I do and we’re just so happy that we have the opportunity to give back to the community.”
